The Walther Q5 Steel Frame BLW SE is a tactical folder with a D2 carbon steel blade, whose design is inspired by the Walther Q5 Steel Frame sport pistol. Model with partially serrated blade.
The blade is made of hard tool steel D2 hardened to 60 HRC. D2 is a carbon steel with the highest corrosion resistance, which is characterized by high abrasion resistance, long-lasting sharpness and aggressive cutting.
The knife has a symmetrical blade with a spear-point profile, finished with a satin finish (polishing) that eliminates light reflections and gives it a classic look. The knife owes its good cutting properties and excellent penetration to the flat grind, the gently curved cutting edge and the strong thrust.
The partially serrated blade makes it easier to cut hard and fibrous materials such as ropes, belts and tapes. Combo-blade knives (combination of smooth and serrated cutting edge) are usually chosen by soldiers, rescuers and people looking for military-style tools.
The blade can be opened with one hand using the pin on both sides, a method that is convenient for both right- and left-handed users. The monolithic frame-lock effectively prevents the blade from folding accidentally.
The knife has steel linings enriched with inserts made of GRP plastic. The non-slip texture of the overlays is identical to that applied by the manufacturer to the grip of the Walther Q5 pistol. The fine grid ensures excellent grip and prevents the knife from slipping out of sweaty or wet hands. A flat clip is attached to the handle, which can be moved to the other side, allowing the knife to be carried discreetly in a pocket, belt or equipment.
