The Benchmade 15002-1 HUNT Saddle Mountain Skinner is a large fixed blade knife with a full tang. Knives made from one piece of steel (full tang) are resistant to damage and breakage, which is why they are commonly used for heavier tasks by hunters, survival and bushcraft enthusiasts, and soldiers.

The knife has a fixed blade with a length of 107 mm, made of elite CPM-S90V stainless steel, which is hardened to a hardness of 59-61 HRC. CPM-S90V is a luxury stainless steel with a very high vanadium and carbon content, which makes the blade stay sharp for a long time and highly resistant to abrasion and corrosion. When choosing a knife made of hard steel, you should get a diamond sharpener, because sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very laborious and inefficient.

The wide, flat-ground blade has a distinctly rounded belly, which, in combination with the practical drop point profile, ensures excellent cutting performance and high resistance to damage. There are transverse millings on the back and front of the spine, which form a stable support point for the fingers. This simple feature allows for comfortable and precise handling of the knife, which is crucial for a hunter when gutting game. The blade has a satin finish (polishing) giving the knife a classic style.

The element that is responsible for the comfort of using the knife is, of course, its handle. The knife has stylish cladding made of Richlite laminate attached to the shaft with screws. Richlite is a durable laminate made of recycled paper saturated with resin and natural cellulose. The handle has a beautiful brown-black grain, which contrasts effectively with the orange G10 laminate insert. The profiled shape of the handle and the scaly ribbing of the dorsal part of the tang guarantee a stable grip. There is a hole in the back of the handle for a thong or paracord.

The knife is safely carried in a sheath made of Boltaron, a thermoplastic material with high resistance to damage, temperature and moisture.

The bright orange color makes it easy to find the knife left in the grass or undergrowth and increases our visibility during group hunts. The sheath is compatible with the Tek-Lok mount.
